So, here is the count thus far:
Will + 1
Roz + 1
Jonathan + ?
Tom + ?
So, we have six of us at least. Anyone else coming?
We can meet near the Copley T stop. I found this site with information on restaurants near the stop: Find it here
Lets discuss here what sounds good to everyone. My only reservation is that my wife does not Oriental food, so lets choose a different type. Any other reservations?
Friday afternoon, we will have a final decision.

I work a couple of blocks away from Copley, so I'll check out the restaurants this evening and see what makes sense.
I'll just be bringing myself.
Ciao Bella struck me as the best for us. They have some round tables that should be big enough for all of us, it's relatively quiet without being dead, and the menu has lots of dishes under $20, and a pretty impressive anti-pasto section. It's also very near the Copley station and (importantly in my mind, at least) had a great selection of Scotch.
The other reasonable choice was Uno Pizzeria, which was about what I expected: some big tables, deep dish pizza, etc. Perfectly good choice, but not very exciting.
Stephanie's had a great atmosphere (with chairs and couches around a log fire), but the menu seemed unduly expensive once you got beyond the appetizers. The California Pizza Kitchen was too busy for good conversation. Typhoon is kind of an Asian fusion place but -- even without Will's wife's veto on Asian -- it seemed better equipped for couples than groups.
Anyway, that's my take.
I am very familiar with the area, and it is pretty expensive.
I'm really liking Tom's Ciao Bella suggestion-- never been there, but heard good things. Also extremely close to the Copley T stop on Dartmouth St. is Firefly American Bistro. I've been there, and they have really good, fresh, healthy food and cost-wise, are as reasonable as you can get for the area.
Hate to throw a monkey wrench into things, but I had one of the worst meals/experiences of my life at the Ciao Bella on Newbury. If it's unanimous in favor of Ciao then I don't mind relenting.
I just made reservations for 10 people at Ciao Bella for 6:30PM.
Will and Alissa
Roz and Dane
Jonathan
Tom
Joel and Monica
and possibly Marlowe and Wife
The reservations are under my name: Will Brown.
Meet you there.

Our 14 year old son got an emergency appendectomy 2 days ago. Monica and I will have to excuse ourselves for tonight. If all goes well today and he is recovering well, I may come by myself. If not, I hope to participate next time.
Enjoy the evening.
Joel
Sorry to be canceling with such short notice. I've come down with a nasty cold, so Roz and I will not be able to make it tonight. We look forward to possibly meeting you all next time.
